Here's this week's SMDP Mentor Moment
Locus of control

Locus of control
What are your beliefs about why things happen in your life? When something goes well, do you see it as a result of your effort and decisions, or do you credit timing, luck or other people? When something goes wrong, do you take responsibility for it, or do you place it on circumstances outside your control? Some people naturally lean towards believing that they are in control of what happens to them. They see their actions, choices and behaviors as the main drivers of their outcomes. Others lean more towards the belief that life is largely shaped by external forces.
