 Here's this week's SMDP Mentor Moment
Strategic incompetence
In most workplaces, the moment you prove you are exceptionally fast at a task, you automatically inherit that task forever. In most cases, this is usually okay but sometimes you are just trying to help one time or a few times, and then it slowly becomes your permanent responsibility. This can be incredibly frustrating and draining, especially when those tasks are not and were never yours to begin with. Most of these tasks usually belong to team members who don’t want to do them and have realized someone else will pick up the slack without much fuss if they just do the bare minimum.
